- Perri and the volunteers at Arawak were friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely room that with a mosquito net and stunning views of the jungle. You’ll see beautiful artwork all around Arawak. Arawak was about a 5 minute walk to Acutuba beach, which was on a quiet section of the Rio Negro. The water here was warm and looked clean. There were a few restaurants with lots of seating and these accepted credit card with quick payment. You can find Arawak easily on Google maps and it’s about a 40 minute drive from the Rio Negro bridge and the roads were good (smooth tarmac the whole way). The breakfast was tasty with a selection of fruit and traditional Brazilian breakfast food. There were lots of facilities to cook and we were given plenty of fridge space to keep our food cool. The pool was kept clean and was great to cool down. There was a jungle trial too, which takes about 20 minutes.
- Wagner, the owner, was really caring and trying to make us feel very welcome. The house itself was really beautiful and cozy. Amazing Pool in front of the house and close by there is a river beach. The breakfast might be a little small, but it was fine for us.
- If you look for a nice hostel surrounded by jungle, then this is a great choice. I just loved the place. I woke up every morning to watch the sunrise ( which you can perfectly see from the rooftop). Also, every morning you can watch how the monkeys eat and play, how birds like tucans, parrots, etc will fly over you head. Wagner, the owner is really nice and helpful. He speaks perfectly English in case you are not fluent in portuguese. The property comes with two lovely dogs that are just adorable. You can hike directly into the rainforest from the hostel. Close to the huge property is the Rio negro with awesome white sandy beaches. You can also cross the river by boat to go to an indigenous village or if you just want to be lazy then relax on the big pool of arawak hostel. All in all, I really enjoyed my stay in the family-like atmosphere. Thank you!

- Great place to stay in Manaus. The rooms are simple but very clean and comfortable. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They let us check out at noon and leave our bags there for a few more hours too. It’s more like staying in someone’s home than in a hotel. The wifi worked pretty well. You can get to the centre of Manaus on foot in 15-20 minutes.
