This area has to be one of the most romantic, absolutely CAN NOT MISS parts of France. This whole PERIGORD area has to be seen to be believed. Castles are more common than pennies, and if you have a drone, this is perfect for pictures that can’t be taken any other way.
The view is spectacular from any direction, and the ancient streets, castle ruins, fortifications and the meandering river is breathtaking. It’s no surprise that this area is called the prettiest part of France.
- En centre ville avec un grand parking. Restaurant avec terrasse.
- The location is very convenient. My room’s windows overlook the river, you can take the boat trips from the dock across the street. There’s a ramp nearby that you can walk down to the bank to enjoy the water activities. There’re restaurants and shops for local products and wine.
Close to river – as the entire town is. Although this place is across from the boat station so the view is cluttered with all that and crowds of tourists.
AC in the room. Also a computer screen TV but only French channels

- Quiet and comfortable place, surrounded by castles. Helpful staff, breakfast with wide selection of tarts. Liked it a lot!
- Very clean with gorgeous views and friendly staff. We were worried about the holiday and not being able to get gas for our car. American credit cards don’t work at most gas stations in France. The owner offered to get a gas can of diesel for us! So nice! Breakfast was delicious too!
- We stayed in two rooms: the first “regular” room had a queen bed & bunk bed, but was quite small & not air-conditioned. It was hot, so we had to open the window, which caused quite a bit of street noise to disturb our sleep; even with the window open, it was hard to fall asleep due to the heat and humidity. The next night we moved to a “de luxe” room which was air-conditioned, much larger, and also had 3 beds (two twin, one queen-sized). We found the bathroom floor to be rather dirty, but otherwise the room was comfortable, and the air conditioning allowed us to close the windows (which also faced the busy street) & help us sleep better. The staff were quite flexible, the pool was clean and fun, the view from the restaurant was extraordinary, the breakfasts were yummy (but carb-heavy), and the dinner was gourmet.
- I didn’t pay for the breakfast. The location was fine. Staff lovely. Room needs a bit of tlc but otherwise ok.
- Excellent dinner served on the terrace. Fabulous views.

- Clean. Well situated. Comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff.
Located a bit outside of Sarlat-la-Canéda, but it was still a short drive with a car.
Staff was friendly, we managed to check in half an hour before the official time of check-in.
Everything was clean and sparkly. The breakfast was very nice and different from all the other breakfast in that it offered crepes and pancakes in addition to nice fruits !
The rooms had excellent blackout shades.
- It was pretty good for the price. But you need to have a car, cos it’s still far from the old city of Sarlat. The receptionist was extranice!!! I am really satisfied!
- After climbing literally thousands of stairs during our weeks in Europe, it was surprising and delightful to stay in a one- story hotel. Everything was clean and bright, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent, and a bargain for 7 euros. The buffet included several types of pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea, and hot milk. There is a nice breakfast room with window on 3 sides, or you can eat outside on the covered terrace, which was absolutely delightful!

The owners of the hotel and staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We ate in the attached restaurant on our second evening and, in truth, wish we had done so on our first night rather than eating in nearby Domme. The restaurant was good value and had a fun/buzzy atmosphere.
Although the room was basic, it had everything we needed and, above all, it was spotlessly clean.
- The restaurant is superb and very popular in the village so recommend booking in advance. Cooked by proprietor Fabien who speaks perfect English and was very helpful, driving us back to Sarlat Domme airfield next morning.
- A pleasant surprise in terms of value for money, very clean, efficiently welcomed. The restaurant offers extremely good food and is understandably very popular with locals so we felt lucky to secure a table at short notice.
- The bed was comfortable, the room large, the shower excellent. Portable fan managed the heat excellently. Also liked that they were okay with me dropping bags earlier although when I arrived to do so, was told the room was ready, which was perfect.
- This place is amazing. Clean, friendly, excellent service and delicious food. We experienced unexpected problems with our ongoing travel and they could not have been more accommodating. Just wonderful, we will be back.
