All the staff we talked to were exceptionally friendly and polite. Olivia checked us in+was lovely. The guy on the desk for seating us for our breakfast ( Mon 16/04/18 about 8.20 am) was very friendly and professional and treated all guests with a lovely personality. Unfortunately I didnt see him post breakfast to thank him for a great start to the day.

- Although you have to pay extra for the breakfast (with only a small number of rooms, (it might be beneficial to include it in the rate) the service and food itself was A1 …excellent food, excellently cooked. The meal we had for the wedding reception was absolutely spectacular, starter of haddock in batter was extremely tasty and a great portion for a starter, the main roast was excellent, lovely Yorkshire puddings and the sweet (chocolate cheesecake) was enough to make me eat my Mrs’ also 😉 …Staff were brilliant, outgoing and very friendly and could not do enough for everyone…an absolute delight, especially the kitchen staff…they went above and beyond and we are already checking our rotas for a return trip…amazing thank you!
- Great value for money. I also got an upgrade free of charge, as work was been carried out while I was there.

- Comfy bed. Good price. Food in the bar very nice. Water nice and powerful and hot in the shower. It was in a good loaction for me travelling to see friends. There are very few other hotels in the area, so thankfully this one was availabe and was absolutely fine.

- Characterful old building. Plenty of car parking. Private entrance to hotel rooms
- Good welcome on arrival, nice pint. It was very inexpensive and good value for money.
- Great staff and friendly people really looked after us and had a top night!!
- Great service from staff – got given a better room because it was available and a good recommendation for a take away. It’s not glamorous but its perfect for a cheap bed for the night close to the university.

- Pleasant & Friendly staff. The buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner was a brilliant idea. The food was lovely. They catered for gluten free diets. A nice touch from the lady in the restaurant that remembered to prepare gluten feee bread for breakfast for my other half. Ideal location for Hull and the surrounding area.
- Fabulous rural location, great room, lovely staff. The free car parking is well cared for and it is close to lots of great local amenities. In honesty, this is the best value for money hotel I have stayed in for years.
- the first room I was allocated in main building was rather poor. Very old bed and bedding extremely faded, carpet stained, noisy and too warm. I had requested a quiet room so was rather disappointed to say the least. I asked to be moved and the second time I asked i was, over to the new block, with a room backing on to a field. much nicer, bed and bathroom were lovely. very quiet. I would stay again but only if a new room was guaranteed. food was reasonable. I was given the residents menu only and not offered the ‘other’ menu. I had to ask for this. breakfast varied, lots of cereals, breads etc, but I could not eat the cooked breakfast I ordered as the bacon was too hard and the egg tasteless. the staff were lovely though.
- When we arrived we were greeted by the owner who was lovely and even sorted some ice for us and left it in the honesty bar for when we got back from our meal. It’s in a perfect location to get around. The lady on reception, female cook and female cleaner where all friendly and happy to chat.Made our 3 day stay on the island really enjoyable and if we return we would come back to The Grange ?
- Very nice hotel just wish my visit had not been so short as it would have been a nice place to relax more.

- Friendly staff, clean, very comfortable bed, water temperature good, efficient hairdryer. Nice spacious Rooms. Knew what to expect as have stayed before.
- The Old Grey Mare offered us a convenient place to stay due to attending a function at the University of Hull on a Saturday evening. We booked a double room without breakfast. The room was large with a comfy bed and even a sofa in the room ( I think we were in room 17) . The bathroom was also very big and was clean. Both bedroom and bathroom were in need of some repair ( handles broken on windows, furniture chipped and bathroom generally quite run down) . We could hear the pub below until quite late but we were staying in a pub so expected this! We cannot really complain for the money we paid, around £50. The location is great for the Uni and the room adequate. We did not use the pub however it looked great and has obviously been refurbished. I would recommend the old grey Mare but would be aware that it needs updating.. 🙂
- Our second stay. Good price for rooms. Pub facilities were friendly, busy, lots of meal and drink choices. Good atmosphere. Rooms easily accessible and quiet
- stop a few times whilst visiting family, staff are always lovely and he location is perfect for us
- We stayed here for 1 night as it was close to the football stadium we were going to, the room was basic but had everything that we needed for 1 night, the bed was very comfortable! We also had drinks snd a meal in the bar which also was reasonably priced

- Friendly staff -nice building it was ok for the purpose of our travel
- Close to the venue I was spending time at over the weekend.
- It was a very friendly hotel just the location lets it down
- Lovely people and the pub next door was cheap for a few drinks. Will 100% stay there again
