    • Very quaint Inn – in the quintessential Hayes Valley neighborhood. I stay here as often as I can when I come to SF as I love the charm of the place, and the access to the surrounding gems in the neighborhood. Their complementary breakfast in their bright kitchen is also very nice.
    • This B and B is in a nice location in Hayes Valley. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. They serve a nice light breakfast.
    • The positives – Very well maintained and charming accommodation. Comfortable and clean. Having a sink in your room allows you to brush your teeth etc and keeps the pressure on the shared bathroom down. I never had to wait to have a shower or use the WC. Location is excellent, close to nice restaurants (eg Souvla), bars, coffee (Ritual) and bakery (The Boulangerie). The Japanese quarter is also fantastic, with historic mall full of food and drink stalls. Lots of beautiful french and italian styled heritage houses around and I’m pretty sure we bumped into Robert Downey Junior, who gave us directions near the pan-handle. Be prepared to walk up steep hills, but it kept us warm on those cool days. Golden Gate Park has enough attractions and activities to occupy for 2-3 days.
    • staff very friendly – provided additional carpet and heater as room was a bit cold.
      clean hotel very cosy
I appreciated the morning sun in the room !
breakfast is OK, in a very nice room

    Reviews:

    • Very cool and stylish in a eco-hipster-urban kind of way. Everything you need and nothing you don’t. Simple without feeling sparse. Minimalist and yet totally cozy. Such a tough line to walk and 1906 pulled it off! Not to mention the staff are over the top friendly and accommodating. I was offered a beer directly upon arrival and it was super fun chatting with front desk.
    • I like how clean and comfortable everything was. I didn’t know how to take the shared bathroom situation, but there was more than enough space for everyone.
    • The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The breakfast: yogurt, granola, fresh fruit, english muffins/bagels, coffee, juices, was perfect for us.
The shared bathrooms were clean and sufficient. The bed linens were nice quality and bed was comfortable.
    • The location was great. Everything was clean, the staff were lovely, fresh fruit at check in you can snack on. Lots of amenities for the price and value. It certainly isn’t fancy, but it was very comfortable, and they really go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable.
    • The staff was very welcoming and friendly and it was lovely to always have snacks and coffee available in the lobby area. I parked at the recommended garage without an issue and it was $22/day. The room was spacious and had a good view. Slippers and a robe were a nice surprise and made the place feel more homey. A continental breakfast is included and you can take your coffee to go.
The location was awesome. The Mission is a really cool part of town with loads of great restaurants, breweries, and coffee shops nearby. It was refreshing to be a bit further away from all the touristy spots. Wander around the streets to look at the murals and check out Dolorores park nearby if the weather is nice for some excellent people watching!

    • The feeling of staying at someone’s home instead of a sterile, small hotel room. Loved the location in a residential neighborhood. Loved the charm of the older building.
    • The location was very good. It was safe and relatively clean, except for a dirty diaper left in the kitchen overnight.
    • This place is Gorgeous-with-a-capital-G if you like old-style charm. I was in the Library Room. It’s roomy, has a working fireplace (!!), has GREAT water pressure in the shower, and a bed that I initially thought was too soft but ended up proving quite comfy! As far as the rest of the location, they have a diverse little library downstairs, a pretty sitting room, and they set out a nice self-serve continental breakfast until 10:30 am on the 2nd floor. I didn’t participate in tea, since I was always out on wedding party duty, but they have that too and it certainly smelled delicious when I first arrived. 🙂
