So back in the day when the blog officially became “Don’t Mind the Mess” I used my limited expertise as a designer to make myself a header. You can see it right at the top of my page. I made it in less than a half hour using Microsoft Paint. It’s served me well, but let’s face it: it’s not the prettiest header you’ve ever seen.
I’ve wanted to upgrade for a while but I’m kind of gunshy. Whenever someone recommends a designer I look at their portfolio and no matter how good it is, I just can’t commit. I can’t be sure that this person, however talented, is going to create something that works with my own vision.
So instead I’ve finally bit the bullet and gone to 99Designs where I can crowdsource my design and pick a winner.
I’ve got another day or so for people to add entries. And then I get to narrow it down to a small number of designers I work with in more detail. Then I pick a winner!
So before I narrow it down I’d like to hear from some of you. Here’s a handy dandy poll with some of my favorites so far.
Thanks in advance for your help, guys! And I’ll be back with another poll when it’s time to pick my winner.

In my reader, I read the title as “Lego” instead of “Logo,” so I was a little sad when I got here. But the logo vote turned out to be a lot of fun, so it’s okay.

I voted, but my pick seems to be really low on the totem pole. I like as simple as possible. What a fun way to find a designer!

I really leaned towards some of the simple designs. One in particular was very high on my list. But since “mess” is in my title I felt a need to go a little more… well… messy.
